Suite of Training Products
The Lincoln Institute commissioned recognized experts to design two to three day curricula and training for each land control tool. These curricula will be made available through the Lincoln Institute. Based off of these curricula, the CCB is developing two more tools. The Center for Community Builders (CCB) will work with practitioner trainers to adapt these multi-day curricula into in-depth one day training experiences and introductory sessions to be used at the conference. The resultant suite of training products will include a 90 minute introductory session, a one-day workshop, and a 2-3 day training packages that will be offered to community groups after the convening.
The conference will produce three suites of training products on each land control tool for use after the conference.
- 90 minute introductory video and discussion guides: These 90 minute DVD’s will be paired with discussion guides for use as educational tools for faith-based and base-building groups that are beginning to engage with land control issues in their neighborhoods. The CCB is planning to video the initial 90 minute introductory workshop on each land control tool which includes a general overview and definition of the tool and two case studies.
- One-day Training Session. These sessions are tailored for community building practitioners who are considering using a land control tool and would like to asses its appropriateness to their situation. The curricula of these day-long events will be based off of the training red at the conference. Each curriculum will be accompanied by a materials notebook for participants and facilitators.
- 2-3 day training packages. These 2-3 day training packages are most appropriate for those community builders and their partners that have decided upon a land control tool and need to develop an implementation plan.
Marketing & Delivery
The marketing and delivery of these training tools will occur through the Center for Community Builders’ member organizations, the Lincoln Institute for Land Policy, and other partners such as Neighborhoods America.
